It is a GLP 1 receptor agonist that is similar to a naturally occurring hormone that controls appetite, and triggers fat burning. It also slows gastric emptying (making you feel fuller for longer), decreases hunger and cravings. In combination these play a huge role in supporting your weight loss goals.
You come in for a consultation by our nurse practitioner, you obtain lab work, medical screening, its then reviewed by our medical team. Once you are proved to be a good candidate, together we chose which treatment plan would work for you, we then we begin your journey. The injections are weekly using a tiny insulin needle and injected into your subcutaneous fat, usually abdomen, thigh or back of your arm, you will also be weighed at each visit.
You can lose up to 15- 23% of your body weight, on average 2-5 lbs per week and up 50lbs in 3-6 months.
Side effects can be nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach, tiredness, and constipation. The most common of these being Nausea, which usually lessens as you continue semaglutide. If these side effects, become troublesome, we can adjust medication and offer supportive measures to lessen these side effects.

Pregnant, breast feeding, type 1 diabetes, thyroid cancer, endocrine neoplasia syndrome, history of dumping syndrome and low blood sugar and others.
You have to be a diabetic, insurance coverage is required, Semaglutide is used as off label.
You don’t have to be diabetic to receive this medication, yes it will improve your insulin levels, but it is approved for weight loss.
This is a FDA approved drug, there are different brand names for the same medication, however formulation is the same.
Insurance coverage is not required, weight loss medications are typically not covered by most insurances. our plans can be paid out of pocket and are affordable.
